This game is totally bad ass, I'm a huge fan of just about everything they added to this game, but the ending was very anti-climactic for me. Yeah, he probably shouldn't have come back to Earth at the end, but deep down I was hoping he would make a triumphant return at the end of Legendary or something..
Oh, and I love the graphics too. Halo 2's were just atrocious.

Technically Marathon takes place possibly 200 years after Halo, but it's been said by Halo creators before that the main character is supposed to be the same in both games. They now deny that, but they've said it before.
It's a theory made more credible by the ending of Halo 3, but who knows? Bungie is truly one of the great developers of the time, throwing people off and keeping things secret.

Halo 3 would rock IF it didn't feel like every other generic shooter on the market. I'd probably like it more if it was on the computer, but I still just don't care about it/don't see why people make so much fuss about it. Half Life 2 is much better, imho.

I think the main reason it's like every generic shooter is because every generic shooter followed the ever-so-popular "be like halo" idea.
And Half Life 2 is awesome as well, imho.

Yeah I suppose I see what you mean. Yes a lot of shooters got modeled after the halo model, but thee are also a fair deal of shooters that came before halo, and that play pretty much the same as well.

While some deride the plot of Halo, I rather enjoy it. I think the storytellers behind the franchise put a lot of time and thought into it, and are telling the story multiple ways from games to books to comics. They aren't explaining every detail and leave things to player's imagination.
I love Half-Life 2, but the games are fairly similar in a lot of ways. Halo 3 is just more adventure than Half-Life 2. I still love both franchises.

You gotta admit, the Theater is one badass application that took a mammoth amount of programming and doing to get it the way it is. The ability to watch back over any game, take pictures, record video, pause the game at any point and view it from any angle. Brilliant.
